Creativity is learned, not just a natural trait

Creativity can be so many things that it's not put into a specific category. Growing up, what I though of an artist is someone that either is a painter or an individual that deals with art visually while applying it physically on a canvas. Nowadays, the scope of being an artist has bled into anything that the mind can come up with and apply it to the world. One example is dancing. Social media has created so many dancers whether it is a trend dance that originated from TikTok or professional dancing from an established arts school. Dancing has become more artistic than just the action of dancing, which in retrospect is expressing more artistic avenues from individuals around the world. We are now in an era that more so colors, designs, words, and applications are unique works of art. This makes me excited because being a creator as well as a artist, I get to see firsthand what people are capable of and it also allows everyone to become noticed on multiple platforms. Extra avenues of passive income that can be generated from across the globe which helps someone that may not have been popular or noticed, creates a internet sensation overnight as well a wealthy individual people can look up to.  During the course of the years I have witnessed people become famous ( in our eyes ) in ways that years ago; we would not have even given them a chance. Also we may have came up with the assumption that their talent or artistry is very silly, irrelevant, and not beneficial for society during that time.

Now this comes to the title of the blog. "Creativity is learned, not just a natural trait". Have you ever heard anyone say that your just a naturally talented person. Well, we really don't know how the person became such a talented artist. The work and dedication that we do not see behind closed doors are the factors that matter the most. A lot of people learned their creativity through trial or error. Most of the time, in the beginning that person was not very good at the craft they were pursuing. If you were lucky to experience the beginning of the struggle, you were blessed. Like witnessing Picasso when he first started painting or Kendrick Lamar (Rapper) when he first started creating music. I personally love Kendrick Lamar and what he represents in his music as well as the music industry. More on that later. These are scenarios a lot of people cannot recall because it may have been progressing in secret where no one was around to witness the growth. I am a crafter. Not just of one thing but multiple things. I can also guarantee that a lot of artist that you may know or worked with has broaden their skillset and learned new skills as the years went by. As the world keeps progressing, so is the influence of artistry and it is becoming the era of "Who cares". Who cares what others think about your creativity and who cares what other people have to say. This was a huge hinderance to a lot of artist and still is to this day. Spreading awareness of this model quote is what is enforcing growth in the artist community and is helping individuals become their true self.  Ultimately we have to break out of that mold and pursue what really represents ourselves as artist and what truly makes us happy in our journey of expressing oneself.  I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read and acknowledge artist in todays society. It is a ever expanding community and with this community we can only get better and bigger in what we strive to be.
